WINE TOURS
Explore the diverse regions of Northern Sonoma and Healdsburg
Explore everything Northern Sonoma County has to offer. Visit exclusive vineyards, wineries, wine caves and beautiful landscaped grounds, all while tasting exceptional small-lot wine, and occasionally food products. See how wines are made from vineyard to bottle. We can also take a side-trip to Armstrong Woods - a less visited redwood forest about twenty minutes away. Lunch is at one of Sonoma’s many noted restaurants. Other options are to bring a picnic to a picturesque winery (weather permitting), or to have the winery cater lunch completely.

Redwoods and the Russian River
The reason is that while Sonoma and Napa are single valleys, Northern Sonoma is actually composed of three small valleys, each with a different look and wines. Think of a fan with 3 blades; the pivot in the center is the beautiful town of Healdsburg. About a quarter of Sonoma's vineyards are located in the Russian River AVA (American Viticultural District). It is a hilly forested landscape, with vineyards cut into the redwood groves and apple orchards. It's shady and cool. The main grapes grown here are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, along with sparkling wines.

Excellent and Very Enjoyable Guide
We did the Northern Sonoma wine tour on a Saturday in December, the off-season. Max was punctual, friendly and professional. He is also very accommodating to people with varying taste and knowledge levels, and customizes the tour accordingly. My best girlfriend and I highly recommend Max’s wine tours for anyone looking for a personalized wine tour!!

Dry Creek and Alexander Valley
The apple orchards fade to citrus groves as the temperature increases. The Dry Creek Valley is about 10 miles long and a mile wide, and within its borders lie about 65 wineries. In the late 1800's, the area was heavily settled by Italians, who brought cypress and olive trees along with them. The most planted grape variety is Zinfandel, in fact Dry Creek has the highest concentration of old vine Zinfandel in the world. Getting warmer still is the Alexander Valley in the northeast. It borders the northern end of Napa Valley and likewise, grows Cabernet Sauvignon. Cabs from this broad, expansive valley are generally lighter than their Napa counterparts. There are about 20 or so tasting rooms.
Northern Sonoma perfectly suited to us!
Door-to-door service, sparkling, clean, and extremely comfortable vehicle, fantastic and friendly, wineries, and great company. Truly, I can’t say enough good things about our entire day. We are officially spoiled. I can’t wait to go back out and explore with them again.
